I am finding the latest version of Matlab is unable to save images as svg.'s, on my computer at least. Do you know what is wrong?

I have an image saved as a fig. file. However, if I save the image as an svg. it just comes up as a normal image and does not scale as it should. Is there a fix to this problem?

Exactly how did you save it? Did you save the figure or the image array? Did you use imwrite() or some pulldown menu item off the figure's title bar?

If the OpenGL renderer is active for a figure, only pixel graphics are exported. Use 'Painters' to get scalable vector graphics.

so in my mfile, I am using the command "print -painters"

figure (1)
print -painters
hold on
plot(xLpre,tpre-2*pi,'b',xRpre,tpre-2*pi,'r')

where xLpre, xRpre, and tpre are large arrays of numbers.

It is coming up with an error saying:

Error using alternatePrintPath
Invalid or unsupported printer 'cedar' specified.

Error in print (line 102)
    pj = alternatePrintPath(pj);

If I try making the figure and putting the line "print -painters" in the command line after it is made, I get another error saying

Warning: The figure is too large for the page and will be cut
off. Resize the figure, adjust the output size by setting the
figure's PaperPosition property, use the 'print' command with
either the  '-bestfit' or '-fillpage' options, or use the 'Best
fit' or 'Fill page' options on the 'Print Preview' window.

So I want to know the code that allows me to export images as scalable graphics. Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

@Nicholas: I have no idea, where "unsupported printer 'cedar'" might come from. Please post the code.

The 2nd message contains some suggestion to fix the problem. Did you try them?

@Brando: This was the solution for PDFs already. I recommend to open a new thread and ask with more details. Then your chance to get a useful answer is much higher.
