Protected Model with Stundent License

I am not able to open Protected Models with student license. When i try to load a Model which references multiple Protected Models i get the following warning:
Warning: The model 'my_model' references a protected model. This license does not support the use
of protected models. The software will use an unprotected version instead if one is found on the path.
The containing Protected Models are than flagged as "Model not found" in Simulink. I also tried to open them directly from matlab file explorer, which gave me this:
Error using Simulink.ProtectedModel.open (line 22)
Unable to find the protected model
The also checked the path via pathtool. Is it possible to open/use Protected Models with student license?

Creating a protected model requires a Simulink Coder license. You as a third party that receives a protected model must match the platform and the version of Simulink for which the protected model was generated.
If you purchased your own Student Version, then you do not have the ability to purchase Simulink Coder. But maybe you are using a university license and the Simulink Coder product would be available for you if you ask.
In order to help you fully, I am interested to learn about the context. Is the professor sharing a protected model? Then I could suggest alteratives. Are you working on an industry model as part of your thesis? Also here I can make - different - suggestions.

Thanks for your help. I'm aware that creating a protected model requires Simulink Coder license and that using a protected model requires matching versions of Matlab and Simulink for which the protected model was generated.
But my question is if i can use a protected model with matlab student license? If i fulfill the requirement of matching matlab and simulink versions, of course.
Yes my professor shared me a protected model which i need to use in my thesis.

I have contacted through our support system directly and will add a note. Please respond there. The key question is whether you mean with "student license" something you purchased yourself our something your university provides to students.

Simulink Coder is now available with Student licenses, but was not available when the question was asked.
