Hi, I have both R2014b and R2015b installed on my machine. I would like to uninstall R2014b without harming R2015b. They are both on C:\ drive, but R2014b is not in the start->All Programs->MATLAB area. What is the prudent way to uninstall just R2014b? Thanks.

What worked? It doesn't make sense.
  1. Right click on WHAT exactly? What file? There is no uninstall.exe file in my "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2021b" or in my "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2021b\uninstall" folder.
  2. What exactly does Step 2 mean? Where would I see something that says "Compatibility problems solving" and what do I do when I see it?
  3. What exactly does Step 3 mean? What suggested configurations? I don't see anything that says that.
  4. What checkboxes?
  5. Test what program?
  6. How did you get the uninstaller working if there is no installer to be found in start->All Programs->MATLAB or in the Apps Control Panel?

I just uninstalled an older matlab version using the uninstall.exe in C:\Program Files\MATLAB\YOURVERSION\uninstall\bin\win64. This worked just fine for me. It leaves you with some folders and files left that you can remove manually.
Be cautious after Matlab has been uninstalled. The uninstall assistant will ask, if you want to deactivate your licence. You should cancel if you intend to continue using matlab on your machine.

Go to Control Panel and select Programs and Features. Then locate MATLAB r2014B and click the uninstall button.

Did that work for you? If it's no longer in the control panel then Windows doesn't know how to uninstall it so you basically have to do it yourself. This means deleting the files and getting rid of other remnants like folders in the PATH environment variable. There will also stuff left over in special folders under c:\users, so go there and search for any folders that mentions R2014b and delete them. Let me know if that works.

I didn't do anything. I just leave it there as before, for now. Will report back when I have time to look into it. Thanks for all the help.
