i want to add rows and columns to a binary image

Hi, am working on words i want to add rows and columns to a binary image based on threshold values and also add nodes based on center of mass. please help me and i have attached an images for your refernces

Do you mean that you want to break the image into pieces and put it back together with padding between the pieces?

Or do you mean that you want to take a copy of the image and draw lines in the copy, overwriting whatever was there?

When I look at the given example.jpg it looks to me as if the drawn lines are for illustration purposes only and that what needs to be found is appropriate dividing points of the data. However, the material there does not give information on the nature of the "threshold" that is to be used.

Thank you, in the rama.jpg image after adding row and columms I want to find the foreground pixel in each segment and also I want to find the centre of mass in each segment. Based on the centre of mass I want to add a node to it. Please give me some MATLAB codes.

that might get transformed to

-- pulled into pieces and put back together with spaces?

Or are they to be overwritten, like

0 0 0 0 0

Or is it that you want to determine where the boundaries should be and process subsections, without there being any actual padding or overwriting? Something like processing

1 2 and 3 4 5 and 9 0 and 1 2 3
5 6     7 8 4     3 4     5 6 2

as individual chunks?
