I could see that for Simulink Release R2016b and R2017a, the supported version of MinGw compiler is 4.9.2. But I don't see whether MinGw 4.9.2 can be used for Simulink Real Time. Let me know which version of MinGw can be used for Simulink real time with R2016b and R2017a.
Thanks, Datsen

For the the latest release R2017a, the supported compilers for Simulink Real-Time are:
Unfortunately, MinGW is not a supported compiler for using the features of Simulink Real-Time. You may find the above information in the following link (by navigating to Windows > Simulink Product Family > column Simulink Real-Time):
The supported compilers for Simulink Real-Time in R2016b should be the same as in R2017a, and please refer to the following link for more information:

Hello,
I see that for Simulink Real Time 2016a the free compiler provided on the Microsoft SDK 7.1 was still supported and for the SRT 2016b this was not the case anymore. I'm wondering if it is considered to have an update on 2016b version in order to make it compatible with a free C++ compiler. Thanks for your feedback.
Best Regards, Julio Hernandez

Hi Julio,
Unfortunately, there won't be any updates per se for R2016b to support Windows SDK 7.1 or any other free compilers. As can be seen from the Release Notes for R2016b, Microsoft Windows SDK 7.1 has been removed from the supported compilers for Simulink Real-Time, and this also holds true for R2017a.
Thanks, Michelle
