how is the ridge orientation output should be ?

hello all

i have question about using the "edge orientation" for fingerprints well i use it for the first time .. but the run becomes an image like this one

i don't know if that is okay or something wrong about my code i used many enhancement processing and it went great with me except this one i don't know if it needs more step after it and before the matching or what!

can someone help me with that or at least show me how supposed the output becomes !! or tell me if i need more step after it ?

PS: i use the edge orientation after using the minutia extraction which worked fine with me

Why don't you hand draw a red line over that mess so we can see what you consider to be the orientation of it? Upload your screenshot and I'll look at it tomorrow.
