Running .exe on MATLAB

Hi im trying to run a .exe file on MATLAB. Eventually i want to have a GUIDE interface which will lead to the creation of an input file but for now i just want to test running the .exe on MATLAB
It was built using FORTRAN and when it executes a DOS window appears to run the simulation
any advice?
