"Generate Script" from Import data not working same as direct import

I am trying to import a single column of numerical data 211 rows long, with 93 empty cells (imported from csv file). I set following parameters:
-Delmited -Tab delimited -Output type: Numerical Matrix -Replace Blanks with NaN
When I click import selection, a variable of size (211,1) is generated, as it should do. But when I click generate script, and run the script, blank rows are removed and a variable of size (118,1) is created.
Is this a problem with the generate script function in R2017a?
