Divide an image using ROI, iteratively

Hi!
I need a few ideas, of how to divide dicom images (255x255 pixels, int16) using a ROI of [1-256,1-8] for X,Y Horizontal pixels and another ROI of [249-256, 1-256] for X,Y vertical ROI.
I want them to iteratively occur and scan the whole image from left to right and top to bottom, so I can flip the slices later on.
