Matlab files show xcode icon on finder

Hello everyone. I recently installed Matlab in a new computer where I had Xcode already installed. All matlab files were associated to Xcode but now I have changed the default application to Matlab. However, the icons on the finder still show xcode icons although I have already changed the default opening application to Matlab. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you! I'm on MacOs High Sierra
