extend the mesh from 2D line to 3D plane

Hi:

I have a set of 2D scatter plot, such as [linspace(1,10,100),linspace(1,10,100)].

now I want to extend it into 3D plane, i.e. make it extend in the z-direction. I ploted a figure to illustrate my thought.

is there anyway to do this?
