how to get joint histogram for patterns?

For ELBP i need to take joint histogram for patterns ELBP_CI,ELBP_NI,ELBP_RD to combine patterns in ELBP.I am new to matlab. is it correct?

m=[ELBP_CI,ELBP_NI,ELBP_RD];
jhist=hist(m);
