How do you model Fixed Charge Optmization in Matlab

I'll ask in a very general manner. How do you model Fixed Charge Optimization problem in Matlab? There is no documentation on this anywhere on Mathworks. Is there a book or video anywhere that can explain this to me?

Take a look at the Optimal Dispatch model. The z variables in that example model the fixed charge when a generator is started. There is a more complex version of this problem in the files from the recent webinar on Linear and Mixed-Integer Linear Programming.

My go-to reference for optimization modeling is the book Model Building in Mathematical Programming by H.P. Williams. It covers fixed charge formulations and much, much more.
