Hi I would be grateful for any help. I wish to model a piston with parameters for, crank radius, connecting rod length, piston position, crank rotation, and angular velocity.
I am very new to simulink and have found this tutorial
https://uk.mathworks.com/videos/modeling-a-piston-68842.html
I have attached a screen shot of the block layout. My first problem is that this was made in simechanics and I have the latest simscape. I am struggling to find the corresponding blocks in the new simscape.
Thanks for your time

Hi Denise,
That tutorial is quite old, so it is no surprise that you are confused. This video uses the newer libraries: https://www.mathworks.com/videos/modeling-an-engine-68848.html
A step-by-step example is attached as a zip file. Run >> startup_Piston and you will get a four-cylinder model. Model Piston_1 is the simplest one, and closest to the example from the video you watched.
The documentation has a few tutorials, including this one: Model a Simple Link
From your screenshot, you are off to a good start. Hopefully the examples and tutorials will help. Let us know if you get stuck.
