uisetcolor -- IPC process exited. Exit code: 127

When using uisetcolor as in the example (linux, matlab version: '9.2.0.556344 (R2017a)') :

hText = text(.5,.5,'Hello World');
C = uisetcolor(hText, 'Set Text Color');

I get the following error:

See here for reverting to the old color picker if you can't find a better solution.
