Integer constraints in scatter search

GlobalSearch uses a scatter search algorithm for generating starting points. Is there a reason why it does not handle integer constraints? Thank you

GlobalSearch calls fmincon as the local solver. These solvers are for smooth constraints only, no integer constraints allowed. So there is no reason to try to get the scatter search to allow integer constraints, as this is just a small part of the GlobalSearch algorithm anyway.
