Convert decimal date to matlab serial date

I have a long list of decimal dates in a column in excel. How do I convert these to matlab serial dates?
Example: 1998.9549 Output: 730105
Please do not delete as a duplicate. It isn't. The other one doesn't answer the question after 21 comments.
