Matlab 2015a can't find MS Visual Studio 2010 Compilers

Hi,
I have to use a software which up to now I've been using in Matlab 2010b together with MS Visual Studio 2010. This worked flawlessly. Unfortunately there is a new version of my software which doesn't support Matlab 2010 anymore. So I've been forced to switch to Matlab 2015a, that - according to a compatibility list - should work with my software and MS Visual Studio 2010.
But until now I haven't been able to get it running. If I enter "mex -setup" I get the message that no compilers could be found. In Matlab 2010 I can choose the compiler as I'm used to, so it is installed on my system.
I'm running out of ideas what to do in order to make it work, so maybe someone is able to help me solving my problem.

If I recall correctly, R2015a only supports VS Professional releases, together with SDK 7.1 and the Intel professional compilers, and lcc for 32 bit only.
In particular no Express or Community releases of VS
Use
mex -v setup
to see what it is trying. If it partly finds VS but cannot locate cl.exe then Professional vs not is the likely cause.

VS 2015 Professional is supported by R2016b. https://www.mathworks.com/content/dam/mathworks/mathworks-dot-com/support/sysreq/files/SystemRequirements-Release2016b_SupportedCompilers.pdf
