Lag in editor of R2018b

I am running R2018b on MacBook Pro 2017 with macOS 10.14 installed. While I am editing a script, there is a delay of about 1 second when I use the mouse to navigate on the editor pane. More specifically, when I click somewhere on the script, the cursor moves after about 1 second. However I don't have the same problem if I do the same with the keyboard. Has anyone experienced this and have a solution?

The only time I heard this before was with someone who had a HUGE script which he didn't want to split into functions. So if you don't have a 2500 line script I don't know what would cause this.

I literally have two lines of code. In fact, I have reinstalled the R2018a and it doesn't have the same problem.
