Decimate a 3D mesh with colors

Dear fellows, I'm searching for a method which decimates a 3D mesh (.ply/.obj) that has colors on each vertex. I saw that there are method for decimating methods like QSLIM but it takes into account only 3D coordinates of vertices. Is there a method which takes colors of vertices ?
