FMCW radar for dynamic multitarget detection in matlab using triangular and sawtooth waveforms ?

I have this project about implementing an FMCW radar using Matlab. I am struggling to find where do I input my input waveforms , and which waveform is the one I should process... ( do I process after inputting the waveforms or do I apply FFT on the original sawtooth and triangular continuous waveforms ? ( my dr. recommended to not use objects and libraries but using functions instead. If anyone worked on anything similar before please , i would appreciate if anyone could share the code , or at least parts of it )
