I'm working with an image processing algorithm that is quite extensive and needs a lot of iteration to properly segment a variety of images.
What I would like to do is to take every step of the image processing and export it to my GUI for iteration. I want to show the image that I'm processing in one window and then show the effect of whatever function I carry out in another window. I want to allow the user to select different types of filtering (tophat, median, etc.) or masking and show the result, so the user can select which functions best segmented the original image.
I haven't been able to find any in-depth examples or demos on manipulating images in a GUI, so I have been pretty lost when trying to code the callbacks in Guide.
If anyone knows of any solid documentation that would benefit my application or would have any insight on this project, then your insight will be greatly appreciated.

I saw that, but I'm trying to build it using GUIDE, so I was looking for something that explained GUI building with the use of GUIDE.
First off, I want to paste an image or two onto the GUI and I don't even know how to do that. Then I'm wanting to allow the user to click a button to apply a certain filter; they can then use the slider to refine the filter (by specifying a bigger or smaller filter size, etc.).
I thought I might be able to find some example of a GUI that does that, since it seemed like it could be a common application for working iteratively with images.
