Problem with the dir function (it is not reading the images in the specified folder)

I need to process a sequence of images in my project, So I stored the images (jpg) in the matlabroot in a folder called "image". I used the dir function but the output is not reading the images. The matlab syntax is shown below:

f = fullfile (matlabroot,'image') 
>> diroutput = dir (fullfile(f,'*.jpg'))
diroutput = 
0x1 struct array with fields:
    name
    date
    bytes
    isdir
    datenum

Please, can anyone suggest a solution or point out the problem?

Check what fullfile(f,'*.jpg') is returning and compare that to the full directory name

Also I believe dir is case sensitive. Is it possible that you have JPG as the extension istead of jpg? I know I got that on Linux all the time.
