Is there a problem using 'getpts' for placing marks on images with a single mouse-click?

I am manually checking the automated counts of geese, which are marked with red dots, in 8688 x 5792 pixel images. I have found that 'getpts' is superior in efficiency to other commands that I have tried (ginput, ginputc, finput, impoint) in marking corrections with a single mouse-click. My concern is the warning that appears in the 'getpts' documentation ("getpts is not recommended. Use one of the ROI classes instead, described in ROI Creation Overview."). Do I need to be concerned about this for my application?
