What version of MATLAB are you using?

I'm not sure what the exact question is, but evalc will execute the enclosed string as a MATLAB command and capture the result in a variable (h(x) here).

Pretty will take a symbolic expression and display it in "pretty" or more readable format, but only using ascii characters.

The use of both functions is not recommended. A live script is much better at displaying formatted math expressions without needing to call functions like pretty, and I don't see why evalc is needed.

BTW - it is much more helpful if you copy/paste your code here rather than uploading pictures of it.
