Stateflow Compiled Datatype different that the assigned one

I have a stateflow chart where I've defined a number of input busses. Each of these busses are defined in my Matlab workspace. In Model Explorer, I've selected the bus data type that I would like to use for each of these inputs, however upon compiling the code, the 'Compiled data type' seen in Model Explorer is not the same as the one I initially assinged. It seems to be randomly selecting a different bus data type from my workspace and compiling to that. Is there a way to lock the data type to the one I assign in model explorer?
