Black edges , White background

What happens when edges turns black and background white?

I've code in which changing value of log changes edges to black color and background to white.

I think we need to know more about the calculations.

What is class() of the data involved? What is min() and max() of the data? How are you displaying the data? Did you put in a particular colormap() ?
