Hi guys!
So I have a couple of questions about SimMechanics.
So i’m working on simulating a dummy version of a crane in Simulink. So this model has two hydraulic cylinders lifting the crane (using prismatic joints). Is it any way to limit the stroke distance in Simmechanics? Is it the internal mechanics parameters that needs to be set for this? If so, how do you determine the spring and damping coefficient values to limit the stroke length as you want it?
There are also two options to actuate the cylinders; force input and motion input. So the position of the cylinders are supposed to be controlled by a force input but here is where the problem lies. If I set motion as input for the cylinders and put the input as a constant of 700mm, the cylinders will extract 700mm and then stop, which is the motion that I want. Afterwards, I saved the force values acting on the cylinders for this motion. And then I used these force values as force input to the cylinders hoping to get the same motion as when I used motion as input, but the cylinders ended up moving recklessly. Why is that?
I have attached the model in here with the necessary files.
