Dear Support,
We operate the simulink coder with a floating license.
We have necessary support to verify license currently in use, test if license is available and even programmatically checkout a license. We are missing support to programmatically release a license after use.
The current mechanism of closing Matlab session after use of a toolbox or letting the lease expire (4h !) are both inappropriate.
How can I programmatically release a license after use ?
Thanks for your feedback.

It is not possible to programmatically release a license after use.
The closest you can get is to set up a license timeout, minimum 4 hours. (The session timed out on might encounter problems; it would not be able to reclaim a license after it had expired.)
You should be purchasing more licenses. (I know they are expensive though.)
Or you could appoint one person from each team as being responsible for doing all of the code generation. You would have to check the license terms carefully as there are restrictions against using the licenses on behalf of someone else, but an argument could be made that a team is a single entity for the purpose of that restriction. You would have to read the license to see what the exact restrictions are these days.
