Inserting data from excel to a word document

I have a excel file contains all of my participants' number/ID. I would like to insert each of the ID on a pre-designed word document on a specific place, that each ID will be inserted to a word doc. and will be saved as individual documents.

Can it be done? and what function would I need to use?

How are you expecting Matlab to be involved in this? I'm not aware that Matlab includes any capability to interface with a formatted Word document.
