How to connect a USB frame grabber to Image Aquisition Toolbox?

I have tried to connect a USB frame grabber (EASYCAP) using imaqtool. It detects the frame grabber, but I cannot seem to adjust the frame rate, leaving me with no input to proceed with my code. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this, or do you have any experience with other types of frame grabbers (preferable USB).
What I am trying to solve is to connect an ultrasound machine with analog video out (composite) to a portable PC using a USB frame grabber. The code for image processing and analysis is written in MATLAB.

How could your MATLAB find the frame grabber? My frame grabber is V.TOP External USB Video/Audio Capture Card. which hardware support in matlab do you install?
