i want to send 8 bits binary number array from matlab to arduino and different led blink using these bits

i want to send 8 bit binary number serially from matlab . if i send the number [0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1] its turn on the first LED connected to pin13 of arduino .and if i send [0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 ] it turns on the second led connected to pin 12 of arduino.
i required the code of both matlab and arduino IDE.
