Creating the curl function

I wanted to know if it is posibly to recreate the curl function in Matlab. What I am trying to do it pass it three n^3 matrices and for it to return three same size matrices witht the curl. I do not want to just use the curl function that it built-in because I later wanted to carry this code over in python. Everywhere I look seems like it wants to be passed an x, y, z and u, v, w. I want to just use the x, y, z part.
