How to add a toolbox downloaded from file exchange?

I had MATLAB on my Mac and when I downloaded this LightField toolbox I got a .mltbx file. Clicking on it directly took me to an installation dialog box and it got added to the add ons when I checked using "Manage add-ons". Now I have MATLAB on Ubuntu and I'm having a hard time getting started. Now when I download the same toolbox and click on the file(which now has become a zip but with same .mltbx extension), the folder simply opens and I have option to extract the files. I tried extracting and adding through "Package toolbox" etc but failed. Please guide how it should be installed.
