Failure to connect to external program (STK11)

I'm running a premade matlab program my professor gave the class, and every time i try and run it, it says -

Invoke Error, Dispatch Exception:

Source: AGI.Application.1

Description: You do not have the required license to connect externally to the application.

Error in Lab1OrbitDesign (line 9)

root = app.Personality2;

I tried uninstall/reinstall after verifying my licenses were activated.

I contacted my professor, and haven't gotten a response yet.

any ideas for troubleshooting would be much appreciated.
