Lower RAM usage on macOS

Hello,

I tested my code on Windows and Ubuntu on a pc with 12 gb ram and on macOS with 10 gb of ram and slightly worse cpu. I create very big matrices so it isn't surprising that matlab uses a lot of ram, but on Ubuntu the whole system freezes almost instantly and the Windows will be unusable for several minutes too, while on mac I can do other work on the computer while the code runs, it isn't even slow. Is the memory management on macos simply that good or can I change something that the code will be usable on the other OSes too?
