How would I only save variables in a list to a matlab no recursively?

I have a list of variables I wish to save in a MAT file but only those variables in a cell array called "signallist" {'signal1'}

{'signal2'}

and so on...

save(filename,variables)

"variables" are names of variables to save, specified as character vectors or string scalars.

How can I convert "singallist" into a form I can use it in the save the varables listed in singallist?
