How to design a delay block using unit delay block?

I want to design a delay block where i can give the data length how many number of cycles should be delayed , i dont want to use the direct delay block so i wan tto use the unit delay block and design the delay.please help me on this because i am doing targetlink modelling so i cannot use delay directly
