Can GRIDDATA interpolate a 3D triangulated closed surface to ordered structure?

I have obtained a 3D triangulated closed surface from "isosurface" function. Now I need to convert this surface from having triangle facets to quad facets. The reason is that, each point on the triangulated surface has a coordinate of size (N×1) for x, y, and z coordinate. I need to have a (N×M) size similar to what we get from the output of "meshgrid". This way I can use "contourc" function. I was thinking of using "griddata" but I did not succeed in getting what I want. Could someone help me?
