How can I change the frame rate and/or direction of playback while playing a movie using the Matlab function "movie"?

I would like to have control of the frame rate & direction of play in the process of playing back a movie (not just before the movie starts).  In other words, while the movie is playing I want to.be able to slow it down or speed it up and/or stop it & play it in the reverse direction.  Is there an easy way to do this?

I very much doubt it. Matlab is not a video player, so it (probably) lacks this capability

The video Viewer app in MATLAB has the ability to control playback. You can select the movie or image sequence that you want to play, jump to a specific frame in the sequence, change the frame rate of the display, or perform other viewing activities. You can also open multiple Video Viewers to view different movies simultaneously.
