Question about min and max

How can i find the min and max of the v1[1 2], and v2[3 4] without using the code of min and max

and here's my function code

function [min_max] = minMaxVectors(v1,v2)

Amin = min(v1);

Amax = max(v2);

min_max = [min(v1), max(v2)];

end

i can run by my driver code

v1 = [1 2];

v2 = [3 4];

[min_max] = minMaxVectors(v1,v2);

but how i run this code without using min and max function
