Image processing and Deep neural network

I am working on image database. I want to attach my database as input to deep neural network and want to process it. My target is to achieve face recognition from these images. How to start with the DCNN matlab? Can i work on DCNN with matlab R2014a version?

There has been a monumental amount of progress since R2014a. You really need to upgrade or else you'll waste a lot of time.
