Abdu-Aziz - what problem are you having? Please post the code (rather than an image) and include any error messages that you are observing when you run the code. Also, please clarify what you mean by geornd doesn't work for this. What problem are you trying to solve?

You could solve the equation

mean(geornd(N,THETA)) - 1/X_BAR == 0

for THETA,

To do that, you would want to look for the root of the nonlinear function.

Is that the correct form of geornd (I'm assuming your using the function in the stats toolbox)?

Good catch, geornd takes probability parameter and then sizes.
