how can i solve this problem? help me.!!!!

Do you have the Image Processing Toolbox installed? imshow is part of that toolbox.
You can determine which toolboxes you have installed by typing the following in the command window:

Also, the Image Processing Toolbox does come with the Student Version, but it is not necessarily installed by default.

The function imshow does exist although some the syntax has been changed.
