insert data to mysql

hi there, i have some problem with insert data to sql

if i use this coding

     insert(conn,'test',{'firstname','lastname'},{'linda','sara'})

then the data 'linda n sara' is successfully insert to mysql..

but when i try to call data from the gui which is i use this coding,

     insert(conn,'test',{'firstname','lastname'},{edit1.edit2})

edit1 and edit2 is my textbox in gui, the data cannot be insert to mysql

Is that a period between edit1 and edit2 or a comma?

When you get() the String property of the edit boxes, are you getting back something of class char or something of class cell ?

i have use the tutorial that u give me just now..tutorial that using fastinsert..and the data is successfully insert to sql..thanks a lot =)
