Matlab 2017a NOT Initializing, working perfectly the day before

MATLAB opens but status stays in 'Initializing' and cannot click or open anything. It was working fine the day before.

I have tried every solution listed in this link:

except the ones that require the Command Window or accessing Settings/Preferences, or any button on the software. And NOTHING worked.

I also unintalled it and reinstalled it and still is it not initializing. I also tried to open another version but did not work either. Another laptop with the same version (2017a) and same license works fine.

Any other ideas on how to solve it?

I have the same problem although this is a fresh install on Linux.
