How to successfully load DEFAULT_FASTRTPS_PROFILE.xml file into matlab

Hello everyone,
I am trying to build up the connection between matlab and ROS2 network in VM. I follow the tutorial "connect to ROS2 network":
I put the xml file DEFAULT_FASTRTPS_PROFILE.xml into both host (matlab) and VM (ROS2 application), but I still cannot find the right topic when I use command: ros2 topic list. (eg, topic: / odem)
I am wondering if the xml file is not loaded correctly, or maybe in the wrong location. I "d like to ask that how to verify whether the xml file is loaded?
