Calculating height of the segmented object?

Hello Everyone,

I have to find the height of the segmented objects (which are in white in the attached image) with respect to the base(region shown in gray and height direction in red line/arrows). I tired radon transform but not getting good results, can you guys help me out in suggesting any methods?
