How validation run simultaneously in training graphs in Deep network ?

Hi there
Can someone explain how training and validation graphs progress simultaneously in deep networks training? If am not wrong during training weights and biases or hyperparameters are learnt and then they are validated on another data?
But in graphs we can see the progress of both the graphs? Plz explain
