Embedded Coder for ARM Cortex-R processors, Hercules TMS570LC43x

Hi everybody,

I am trying to run the example arm_cortex_r_gettingstarted of Embedded Coder for ARM Cortex-R using Matlab R2020-a on a TI Hercules Launchpad TMS570LC43x board mounting ARM Cortex-R5F processor.

First, in the Hardware tab, when I click Build, Deploy & Start the procedure completes successfully, but no command window opens.

Then, I try to click Monitor & Tune, but the following error message comes out:

The following error was encountered during evaluation of the external mode callback 'Connect': The timeout of 10 seconds for connecting to the target application has been exceeded.

Error occurred while executing External Mode MEX-file 'sendToCommService': ExtSetTargetPkt() call failed on EXT_CONNECT. Ensure target is still running

What can I do to run the model on hardware?

Do you have any update on your problem? I encountered exactly the same one. I am using RM57Lx LaunchPad which also uses ARM Cortex-R5F as MCU.

Hi Giuseppe,

Did you check your port? It looks like is due to my hardware settings (Hardware->Hardware Settings). I reconfigured the COM port from default one to the ones actually in use.

Following is how it looks like after I made the change. The part I am not sure is even I am able to run Monitor&Tune as following. The same error shows up in Diagnostic viewer when I just click connect.

Hi everybody,

I got the same error while running external mode simulation or real-time simulation. I tried to connect the device via its USB cable and also using the ethernet port.

This simulink example should be already configured to runs on this board.

I'm using the HERCULES RM57Lx LaunchPad Dev Kit....Have you solved this problem?
